Reflecting on the Noble Qur'an, understanding its meanings and acting upon it — following its commands and avoiding its prohibitions — is the very purpose for which Allah, Mighty and Majestic, honoured mankind with it. The Muslim should honour it first by acting upon it, then by reciting it in the best way, with tajwid and measured recitation.
Some have gone so far as to exaggerate their attention to the rules of tajwid and to labour over the articulation of its letters, overlooking — with good intentions — what deserves greater attention. This book is guidance, a reminder and a warning to the Muslim against falling into excess.
